Green Valley is Southern Nevada’s original master-planned community. Long before Summerlin became a household name in the Las Vegas Valley, Green Valley was already redefining what suburban life in the desert could look like. American Nevada Corporation broke ground on the 8,400-acre development in the southeast corner of the valley in 1978, with developer Hank Greenspun’s vision guiding the project from the start. The grand opening was held on October 24, 1978.

The Urban Land Institute recognized Green Valley early on as a prototype for outstanding master-planned development. That recognition held up. The community now houses more than 75,000 residents and sits within the city of Henderson, which consistently ranks among the safest and most livable cities in the United States.
